Here is a recent case of composite bonding done by our dentist Maxine. White (composite) fillings bond brilliantly to teeth and because of this, composite can be used to change the shape of teeth without any drilling to the teeth. In this way we can close unsightly gaps between teeth, lengthen shorter teeth and replace tooth structure that has been lost through grinding or acid attack.

The link between gum disease and Alzheimer’s

Research suggests a link between gum disease (periodontitis) and an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, as well as potentially faster cognitive decline in individuals already diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Some studies have found that bacteria associated with gum disease can be detected in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s, and that these bacteria may contribute to the development or progression of the disease
