Extractions and Sedation
We carry out most extractions at the practice including many surgical cases. Only some wisdom teeth and retained roots and treatments that need specialist intervention do we refer to York District Hospital and a number of specialist practices where necessary. This means the work is done by a dentist who already knows and understands you and with a team of staff who know how best to support you.
Patients with mild anxiety can be given sedative tablets before treatment to help them cope with the procedure.
If patients need particularly stressful treatments doing , such as a wisdom tooth extracting, we work with other practices and the district hospital to allow patients to have such treatments either done under Intravenous Sedation or General anaesthetic.
